We have a beautiful type after the death of Christ on the cross.
We see the veil to the most holiest torn from top to bottom by God.
We have Christ becoming our High priest.
But most interesting of all for me is that Christ becomes the mercyseat.
And as our mercyseat he becomes our mediator.
He becomes our propitiation, our way to the Father.
He is our continual reconciliation as long as we continually bring the correct offering in our obedience.

The Jesus christ I serve was the offering unto God that appeased Him for my sins..
heb 10:10
By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
The Jesus I serve makes me righteous before God by His obedience, not mine..rom 5:19
For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
His offering Himself was part of His obedience, its called the obedience unto death, even the death of the cross Phil 2:
8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
So you see, we serve different Jesus and different God..

Here is a beautiful explanation of the mercy seat
Exodus 25 v 17 And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof. 18 And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat. 19 And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof. * 20 And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be. 21 And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee. 22 And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.
Psalms 117 v 2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.
